Fashion Illustration

When I started ob27 in 2006, one area I always wanted to explore was fashion illustration. Lacking skills and knowledge in that field, I took on the challenge of studying the iconic fashion illustrators' drawing and colouring techniques. One of them was René Gruau.

I kept time to practice daily, whether in the studio or at fashion shows. After a while, my illustrations evolved into a recognisable visual style. I started to be commissioned by brands and magazines. International greeting card licensing companies took an interest also. It was a proud moment (accompanied by a sense of achievement) when I found that my illustrations were sold nationally in the UK Waterstones chain stores, next to those of René Gruau.
